On Thursday, August 16, 2018, I bid on 2 Hyundai Sonatas (one 2013 and the other 2011). In both cases, I was the highest bidder but since there was not many people bid on the cars, they came out to a low bid. I was told to put an offer, and I did on the 2013. We were told the response would be by the end of the day. Nothing happened. Then they say, by Friday 5 PM. Nothing again. Then on Monday at noon. and then we were told the car was going back to auction and we never got an answer for our offer. I think it is very deceptive practice. If you want a minimum bid for a car, you should post it and/or answer to our offer in a timely manner.

    1. Thank you for your feedback. The auction is the facilitator for the sale of the vehicles, and cannot impose a reserve price. That is up to the seller. Most sellers do provide a minimum amount. The fact that the vehicle was being re-entered into the next sale meant that the seller did not accept the offer. There is no deception. If-sales are generally closed on the day of the sale or the following day. That is a standard practice at most auctions. It sounds like the auction was attempting to negotiate the deal beyond that limit as a courtesy. Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like they were getting a response on their side.

    I am an experienced dealer
My last attendance was not pleasant.
I think it was unfortunate for both the seller and me. The floor auctioneer tricked me bybnit informing me that he has a bid on a gsa car when I was willing to go higher. I was offering him a number and he was asking higher but he never mentioned that he already got a bid Which is the norm. Ha d email done that I was willing to go higher and I had room for almost 2000 more than the sold price.
It was a cheap game but I understand. This kind of things do happen. SO I will forget it in few days. Thought I share with you since you asked

    1. Hi Sam… Thanks for the feedback! I’m not sure I understand the scenario. What I do know about GSA is that they do have their own criteria (e.g. they do not allow pre-bidding), and GSA monitors the auctions performance. This could have possibly been a misunderstanding. Mark, Joe, and Victor are all very good auctioneers, but anyone can make a mistake. Of course, if you continue to experience this or similar issues, please let us know. Customer experience is the top priority!

I bid from home 380 miles away and flew to LAX the next morning, paid and drove home. Selection of inventory was hardly relevant because I bought the exact car I had in mind from the on-line preview list. I couldn’t ask for anything more.

Excellent Auction, Everything is done in a timely matter, All vehicles are inspected and reported accurately. Great support from everyone at the office. And fun small rewards from time to time for those who purchase many throughout the year. All cars I have purchased from this auction have come out great with no problems other than those already reported.
